NEW ORLEANS (AP) ? An attorney for a New Orleans police officer convicted of lying about the aftermath of a deadly shooting outside the city's convention center after Hurricane Katrina is asking a judge to show some leniency at his sentencing Wednesday. A court filing Friday by defense attorney Kerry Cuccia (KOO-chuh) says Ronald Mitchell faces 15 to 21 months in prison under federal sentencing guidelines.
