A 57-year-old paraglider is in the hospital, after losing control and colliding with a mailbox, tree, utility box and parked car, according to a report from The Galveston County Daily News. The Bayou Vista man, whose name has not been released, was tuning up his paraglider when the accident happened around 5:20 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Sailfish, the newspaper reported. The victim suffered extensive head and internal injuries and was transported to a University of Texas Medical Branch hospital, the report said.
